What are the Advantages of LCD Projection?
One is they are much less costly, the (LCD) liquid crystal display projectors send light from what is called a metal halide lamp. The light is sent through a prism that separates into three silicone panels. The panels are for blue, green and red components of the video signals. When the light is mixed it can produce a large range of color shades in the projected images for rich pictures. Around 2004 and 2005, the LCD projection has staged a come-back because of the new dynamic iris which has improved contrast bringing the picture quality up to standard.
A Disadvantage of the LCD Projection
The LCD projection uses a metal halide lamp because they produce a large amount of light for a broad spectrum of color. The negative aspect of this lamp is its short life span. To replace one costs a few hundred dollars each time one goes bad.
