Home Theater Audio Advice
Audio Advice
Buying the new home theater systems you can spend a bunch of money, as they get quite expensive at times. You will find for example, speakers are available with different performance levels and price. You are the one in control of what you buy and you should not always trust what you hear. Do not fall for anyone telling you that there are rules and things to consider when buying home theater audio. The reason for this is in the end it is your decision and you must pick the quality of sound that fits your taste.
Buy Speakers in Sets
Never piece together speakers for your home theater audio system. Always buy them in a complete set. You will not want an audio system that is unbalanced making the surround sound concept just not work at all. Crossing manufactures or different models of the same manufacture will cause you to have an unbalanced sound system.
Subwoofers are not always required in order to achieve the best sound, but it is highly recommended for the best quality bass sounds. The number of speakers has a lot to do with how you want your home theater audio system to perform. The true surround sound effect you are looking to recreate is based on personal taste.
Most of the time you will find five speakers and a subwoofer are generally needed to ensure great home theater audio quality all over. This can be adjusted due to space and money constraints though. With one exception and that is Bose provides a direct reflecting concept to produce sound systems. They provide home theater sound systems employing this concept with fewer speakers. Bose is well known for providing some of the best quality sound systems.
With whatever your limits might be in terms of space and money, a perfect home theater audio is not that difficult to pull off. It is possible for you to create an amazing experience on a small budget. The TV's we have today have built in central speakers, but this won't give you the high quality surround sound results like a home theater.
Basic Variations of Speakers
Speakers and speaker systems come in several basic variations. You can choose from full size floor-standing units, in-wall units or bookshelf units, any of which may be used for your primary speakers. The more expensive floor-standing speakers are typically the most massive, but they also perform the best. The in-wall and bookshelf units are much easier to install and require less space even while performance is very good. Some of the smaller units lack the bass range enjoyed by the full-sized units; a problem easily resolved with the acquisition of a good subwoofer speaker.
